On May 24, 2023, PPWC Local 8 and the Company (Lantic Inc. Vancouver Refinery) met for the first time to begin the bargaining process for the new Collective Agreement as the current one expired Feb. 28, 2023.
After 11 days of negotiations, one since our return to bargaining from the summer break, unfortunately we have not come to an agreement. The Union has declared an impasse.
We will be having a meeting from 11-3 on Saturday, September 23 to discuss the next steps, and conduct a strike vote.
The meeting will be at the Delta Marriot Grand Villa in Burnaby, 4331 Dominion St.
