A new CBC News TikTok video highlighted the one-month long PPWC Local 8 Rogers Sugar strike, and includes a statement by Local 8 president Adrian Soldera.
“100 percent of employees voted in favour of strike action after the company proposed extending shifts to 12 hours and keeping the refinery running during weekends,” says the report.
“We just want to get back to the table,” responds Soldera. “Our guys sitting out on the road yelling at management: ‘You guys like to make money and we’d like to make sugar. So let’s get this done.'”
